I came to the occult looking for Answers; I found more Questions.
Magic is real. It just requires mental discipline and strength and the knowledge of how to apply that discipline and strength so it works for you instead of just throwing your will into the void with all the other competing thoughts, dreams, and wishes.
Giordano Bruno wrote a long treatise on the different definitions of magic. He wrote in in the 16th century. They stand true today. He concluded that “A magician, in the highest sense, is a wise man who knows how to act.” Magic is about self-mastery; it is less about making spooky or preternaturally opportunistic things happen. Mastering (your own) Consciousness makes you a master of the potential of Consciousness.
Life itself and all that relates to it is Magic. I live for the moments when reality breaks down and the rules go out the window. If I perform a ritual that cements the idea that I have already achieved my desired outcome, my reality will bend to accommodate this. Obviously, some desires are easier to manifest than others, but for the sake of sanity, let’s say I perform this ritual. I leave the ritual feeling as if I have already achieved my goal.
I knew what I wanted, exactly what I wanted, and exactly what I had to do to make it happen. A magician must take ALL steps necessary to raise the probability of desires for enchantments to work. If you don’t buy the lottery ticket how would you win?
We get stuck on things that boost our ego and stuck on things that threaten our ego, so we ended up blocking our abilities on Magic.
“Am I a good person?” Yes and no. Find why the answer is yes and why the answer is no and don’t get stuck! Keep going! I think moving on is more important!
The whole keep going thing…stems from the mind wanting to figure everything out. But there’s a parable about this guy getting shot with a poisonous arrow, and before he goes to the doctor, he wants to know 1) who shot the arrow, 2) why he shot the arrow, 3) who are the parents of this person who was raised to think it’s okay to shoot a poisonous arrow at someone, but the Buddha says, dude, if you get stuck on trying to analyze and figure out all those things before we even take you to the doctor, you gonna die of poison. We have to work on getting that poisonous arrow out NOW and you can worry about the who and the why and the what later. Anyway, comparing getting the poison arrow out to doing The Work.
Magic isn’t a paddle when you’re lost without one. Hocus pocus magic isn’t real. There are no tricks or shortcuts. You need to be incredibly strong and you need profound perseverance. Find what is missing and trust your perspective.
Let’s say we’re walking down the street, you and I. In the center of us stand another man, you see his left and I see his right. We both only see half a man, but we both assume the other half exists. Well, this would throw us off a lot more in a reality of half men and full men.
Your perspective is everything. Don’t assume and use mirrors. Then you could see the other side of the man. Find mirrors!
